Sautéed Bellaverde (Broccolini)

Bellaverde, or asparagus broccoli as it is also called, is a very good long-stemmed variety of broccoli. It has a unique, sweet flavor and is a versatile ingredient that can also be eaten on its own. Here we have prepared it with a few ingredients that bring out the natural flavors of this amazing vegetable.

You will need
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter
7 oz bellaverde (broccolini), washed and split lengthwise
4 cloves garlic, grated
½ tsp Pul biber (Aleppo pepper)
½ tsp Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
¼ cup water
½ tsp honey
How to make it
1. Heat up butter and oil in a spacious frying pan. When the butter stops sizzling, add the bellaverde. Sauté while stirring for 5 minutes.

2. Add garlic, Pul biber, Kosher salt, and black pepper, and sauté while stirring for 2 minutes.

Freshly ground black pepper
3. Add water and honey and let simmer for 2 minutes.

½ tsp honey
